General hardware specifications

This document applies for the following Reasult applications:

  • Reaturn Taxatie Management
  • R&A Reaturn Taxatie Management

In this section, the requirements for the client, the application server, and the database server are listed.

For TM, the application and database should run on the same server. R&A can be installed at the same server as TM but cannot be combined with other R&A databases from the Reasult Suite.

In general, applications and servers can be installed at the same server, however we strongly advise using separated servers (if applicable) to ensure acceptable performance.

NOTE: if you want to combine more applications from the Reasult suite on the same server, we advise you to contact Reasult for possible setups.

All application and database servers run on Windows Operation Systems. Authentication and authorization are based upon Active Directory. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox are supported web browsers.

Client software

Each application can export data or open reports. For these purposes, the software should be able to launch:

  • Microsoft Office (Word / Excel) 2016 or higher
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader or another compatible PDF Reader.

Terminal Services

Reasult software may be used together with Microsoft Windows Terminal Server, Citrix Metaframe and/or VMware Server.

For the best graphical experience, it is recommended to optimize Font Smoothing or ClearType settings.

Databases typically perform better on physical hardware; therefore, we recommend even for the minimal specifications to use real hardware over virtualized hardware.

The requirements for R&A are as follows:

  • Microsoft Excel is required for running analysis cubes (pivots) on the R&A database. We advise Excel 2019 for optimized performance.
  • To be able to test the R&A templates we need access to an environment where there is Excel available. This could be for example a Citrix or Terminal Server environment. It would be preferred to login on the same environment as the users so that we can test like a regular user.

Web server

Reaturn TM has a web client (Reaturn TM in the browser) and a rich client (Reaturn TM Windows application). The recommended client is the web client as this is further developed whereas the rich client will be discontinued at some time in the future. On the web server Internet Information Server (IIS) should be installed. In addition, .NET Core 2.1  (of higher) Hosting Bundle is required. Also, an own SSL-certificate should be installed. It is recommended to disclose the web server externally and to assign an external DNS name. It is not possible for now to apply port forwarding.

Connections

In configuring Reaturn TM the following connections are relevant:

  • SMTP server for sending reports by mail, preferably also on acceptance
  • Source system is customer-specific connected using the Reasult Data Upload tool
  • Access to a Document File Share for storing reports (PDF-format) and images of objects:
    1. Reports – estimated growth: max. 5 GB per quarter. The quantity is largely dependent on the number of images embedded in reports
    2. Images – estimated growth: max. 15 GB, stored in the SQL-database.

Configuration

Reasult requires additional configuration settings regarding its software. These are described in a separate configuration document.
