Asset types are managed by clicking on 'Asset types' in the Master data section.

Figure 1: Asset types

You can add a new asset type by clicking on the 'Name' field in the first row of the grid. After entering a name, you need to select the asset category to which the new asset type belongs. You can optionally enter a description and then save the row. After saving, the asset type is added to the grid.

You can edit a asset type by double clicking on the asset type. Now the row is in edit mode and you can edit the name, category and/or description.

You can delete an asset type by checking the checkbox in front of the asset type. An action bar is shown at the bottom of the screen. Click on delete and the asset type will be deleted from the grid. It is only possible to delete the type if there are no presets linked to the asset type.

Asset types are used on the following places in the application:

  • Presets are directly linked to asset types.
  • When you add an object, you need to pick an asset type.
  • The asset type of an object is shown on the construction programme screen.
